Work With a Precision Machine Shop for Maintenance, Repair, and Operations Support

Maintenance, repair, and operations—or MRO—are the activities associated with the upkeep of a plant, manufacturing facility, or even a precision machine shop. Together, these processes contribute to consistency on the manufacturing line, a crucial element of running a successful business.

To say MRO challenges are costly is an understatement: shutting down a production line can cost tens of thousands of dollars per minute. Luckily, Arbiser Machine can support your facility’s MRO to help avoid expensive shutdowns and delays.

How Arbiser Machine Can Help Manage MRO

Here’s how we support customers in each area of MRO:

Maintenance

It’s better to be proactive than reactive. Our precision machine shop can manufacture parts, including reverse engineering legacy parts, that you can maintain in inventory. That way, if a part breaks, there’s a replacement available, and disruptions are kept to a minimum. We can even work onsite at your facility to take measurements of parts that are active in production.

Consider this example: A customer in the food service industry wanted to prepare for the eventual failure of an older gearbox. They knew that if the gearbox broke without a replacement on hand, they would lose out on 1,800 containers of food per hour that the line was down.

We couldn’t remove the gearbox from its physical location, so one of our engineers took measurements during a lull in production. He used the measurements to create a SolidWorks model and even standardized the gearbox to fit three different machines.

The whole process took about 2 weeks. Now, should the customer’s gearbox break, they’ll be able to replace it in minutes.

Repair

MRO Support

Sometimes parts break despite the best maintenance efforts—and when that happens, the clock starts ticking. In these situations, Arbiser Machine can help manufacturers correct course quickly.

We leverage reverse engineering to fix or remake broken parts—original drawings are nice to have but not required.

A customer once came to us because a plate on their line had broken, halting production. We worked at top speed and replaced the part in just 2 hours so they could get back to business. Not every precision machine shop has that capability.

Operations

Production plants rely on precision machine shops like Arbiser Machine to ensure that when they pull a part off the shelf, it fits into their machines. We know time is of the essence on the line, and we stock tool rooms so customers have the appropriate supply of parts that will fit correctly every time. This service helps prevent costly slowdowns in operations.

Time is money at any production plant, and it’s critical to keep production running smoothly. Arbiser Machine wants to help our customers avoid the headache of MRO oversights. Get in touch today to discuss how we can support your MRO process.
